Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency, and volunteer fire departments are continuing to respond to the fire on Mooseland Road.

The fire has seen significant growth and is now estimated to be 1,700 hectares and is out of control. Two DNR helicopters and two fixed-wing water bombers from Newfoundland are responding. Our four fixed-wing water bombers are also working on the fire. 

Mooseland Road is currently closed near sixth lake. Please avoid the area.
