Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency are continuing to respond to the wildfire on Mooseland Road, Halifax County. The fire is still estimated to be 1,700 hectares and is out of control.

Two DNR helicopters and four fixed-wing water bombers are assigned to the fire, along with two fixed-wing water bombers from Newfoundland.

Mooseland Road is currently closed to traffic, beginning at the intersection of Highway 7 and Mooseland Road. Please avoid the area.

This will be the last post for today unless there is a significant change to the fire.
